This time last year, we were celebrating Polka Dots Day with out favorite mouse rocking the dots at Disneyland. This year we are celebrating at home, but lets look at the positive! We cant still rock the dots creating positive / negative art at home!

I created this quick and easy art project for the kids today. They had so much fun, I thought it would be perfect to share. Should you find yourself looking to shake the negative and are in for a positively fun and very dotty art project.

You will need:

White paper

Mickey shaped stencil

Dot Markers or Daubers like these

Place your cut stencil on white paper. You can use one or as many as you’d like! Use a small piece of tape to hold it still (especially for littles). Dot away! Making sure to dot along the edges of the stencil. When you remove the stencil, you will create negative space piece of art! Don’t under estimate the simplicity and the power of negative space. Removing the stencil leaves an empty space and creates a powerful composition that brings feelings of longing. Kind of how we are missing Minnie today. Too deep??  I think it’s still a fun artistic, and positively perfect way to celebrate this National Dots Day!

Have Fun! Happy National Polka Dots Day!
