A ONE STOP SHOP FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY? Not possible. Especially not for athletic wear! For every sport?? But it’s happening!!! And it’s happening at a price every family can afford!

DSG is a new athletic wear line for the whole family by DICKS Sporting Goods. This new athletic line’s sizes are broad and go from size kids xxs – XL, and adult sizes XS – 2XL in prices starting at 15$ to the 30$ range! If that isn’t enough to peak your interest, how about 1% of every purchase goes to the DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation to help save youth sports in our local communities. Finally a quality clothing line for us!

I was lucky enough to be invited to try out this new line myself! And not just touch and look.. I got in the clothes and WORKED OUT! I noticed right away the quality of clothes is excellent! Thick fabrics with the right amount of compression. The styles and colors are all perfectly on trend. I have to tell you, that the tummy control on the leggings is EXCELLENT!! Then, it was time for the real test! Working out in the clothes. We participated in a 30 minute HIIT workout along with Candace Cameron Bure! I finished the workout strong despite being err – a few years behind in the work out department. I haven’t worked out in probably 2 years ever since that “get the baby weigh off” stint in 2016. But I felt great and thanks to DSG I looked great too! The fabric in the clothes are all made with moisture wicking and antimicrobial technology so I finished smelling clean and dry!

After the workout, I gathered myself for an exclusive interview with Candace Cameron Bure. (I tried my best not to “fan girl” over having DJ Tanner in front of me!) I started by asking her why fitness was important for her and for her family… She said, “Working out is important, I think, not only for the physical benefits of it but it’s super important for our mental health. That has been, where I’ve seen the most change, in myself. It’s a stress reliever, it gets all the junk out of your system! So just for that aspect especially if you are a mom or a new mom. I think exercise is just all around really important both physically and mentally. But, for moms of little kids, I always say, don’t beat yourself up on the workout outs!! You have little kids! Your time is so important with your little kids! Go for a walk with them or go to the park with them! But don’t stress out about hitting the gym, or getting to that class if it’s not an easy thing for you do to. I know when my kids were really little, I used to pop a tape in the VCR!”

Celebrities, they’re just like us! I know the majority of my own work outs (when I do work out) are all done at home because of the time and stress it takes to just get to the gym. I’d rather run for 20 minutes outside than spend the 20 min just driving to and from the gym!

Next I asked her why she thought it was important to get kids physical…  Candace replied, “We’re sports parents and all my kids played sports. Both my boys play hockey and my daughter played tennis… we thought it was important for them to be active and getting involved in team sports. There are so many things in it for them! Teamwork and showing up for team mates. And it also keeps them busy! They stay out of trouble when you keep them busy! Sports were very important to us as parents! It didn’t matter how good they were, they just needed to be involved in sports!

I had to agree, not only is being physical good for kid’s mental health, as a de-stressor, but also for their self-esteem in achieving things that seem difficult with their bodies. Learning about camaraderie and working together with a team. As well as exactly what Candace said, keeping them busy!

My last question was back to DSG. Being a celebrity, I imagine she gets many inquiries about working with all kinds of brands. I was curious to know why she chose to collaborate with DICKS Sporting Goods for the launch of their new athletic wear… She said, “Because, it’s really good quality and they’re affordable prices for the whole family. I know that athletic wear is not cheap these days for good quality stuff, when I saw the line and I tried it all on, and I felt it, I’m like, ‘oh! This is fantastic!’. I loved what they’ve put out, I love that it’s affordable for the whole family. You can outfit your whole family literally from a size 4 for little kids all the way to 2X you can outfit your whole family and it’s affordable and it looks great and you’re comfortable in it, it wears well!! The other thing is that it’s always wonderful when a company gives back! Charity and non-profits have been a huge part of my life so knowing that 1% goes back to charity and kids in sports is awesome!!”

You can’t beat it! DSG great style, great quality and great prices for the whole family and all for a good cause! A big thank you to Candace Cameron Bure for sitting down to chat with me and to DICKS Sporting Goods for inviting me to try out the new DSG line. I can’t wait to take the family shopping for new athletic clothes for Fall!

After the workout and the interview, Candace Cameron Bure and DICKS Sporting Goods, treated some very deserving girls from the Boys and Girls Club to a shopping spree to get them ready for back to school! I cant imagine a better way to celebrate Back to School season. Thank you DICKS Sporting Goods for letting me be a part of the DSG celebration!
