It’s not December, but the spirit of joy and wonder is in the air. This time, we’re on a mission to hunt for Halloween lights and decorations that rival the grandest Christmas displays. Hop into your broomstick maybe with a pumpkin-spiced latte in hand and embark on a ghoulish journey through your neighborhood on a spine-tingling, laughter-inducing Halloween light hunt!
The streets come alive with a fiery orange hue, illuminated by pumpkin lanterns that wink and grin, giving the night an irresistible glow. It’s like the pumpkins are in a Jack-o’-lantern pageant, competing for the title of “Gourd-geous Glow.” As we drive by, we spot houses adorned with witches on broomsticks, and we can’t help but cackle with delight. It’s as if the entire neighborhood is competing in a “Witch-ful Thinking” contest, each hoping to bewitch us with their displays. There’s no shortage of creatively decorated homes, from haunted mansions to graveyards teeming with animated skeletons. It’s a “Haunt-astic Homes” competition, and the spookier, the better!
A Halloween light hunt has become a cherished tradition in our family, where joy and imagination light up the night just as brilliantly as the grandest Christmas displays. Its an inexpensive and fun way to get into the Halloween spirit! The real treasure, though, is the community spirit that brings everyone together to celebrate this hauntingly good time. So, fasten your seatbelts, turn on your favorite Halloween playlist, (or use mine!) and let the Halloween light hunt begin!
Make a game of it! I have put together a scavenger hunt list you and your family can use to check off as you go! Print before heading on your adventure and check them off as you go! Add more to the list if you’d like too and tally as many as you see!
