The first official recipe for a “Some More” appeared over 90 years ago in the 1927 Girl Scout guidebook “Tramping and Trailing with the Girl Scouts.” It is a loved classic treat that is a symbol of the freedom of summers spent outdoors. So well loved is this treat, that it has it’s own national day of celebration on August 10th! This summer, even though we don’t have much of the freedom, the s’more has become staple in our home. Weekly backyard s’mores by the fire are a must! I have been experimenting with different combinations to make fun and interesting flavors beyond the usual graham cracker and milk chocolate. Because this has become one of our fun quarantine activities, we had to celebrate National S’more’s Day this year! To celebrate, I am compiling the best S’more Combinations I’ve tried and can personally recommend. If you are bored with the traditional graham cracker, milk chocolate and standard marshmallow, you’ll want to keep a close eye on this ever expanding post! I will be updating as I come up with more ideas for this fun fireside treat!
The Cinnamon Waffle.
You will need:
- Stroop Waffles
- Cinnamon Churro Marshmallows
- Dark Chocolate
Move over regular graham and make way for the Stroop Waffle! These thin waffle shaped wafers are layered with caramel and make the most indulgent vessel for this decadent S’more! Replace the traditional marshmallow for a cinnamon churro flavored variety, and top it with dark chocolate for the most satisfying and elevated s’more experience you’ve had!
