Cancer impacts one in three Americans. Think about that….

Facing cancer is a scary and difficult time for any family. Things like the stress of finding the right treatment on top of navigating all of the latest information is why I am happy to partner with City of Hope Orange County to learn and share about their facilities and philanthropic efforts supporting our OC community.

In a recent interview with Larry Zeiber (featured here above), Vice President of Philanthropy at City of Hope OC, I learned that their vision is to bring highly specialized cancer care to the OC with more than 1,000 clinicians and 750 clinical innovative trials that are currently underway. All of which make world-class cancer care accessible to the people who need it. So that no one must travel for treatment in the future

Mr. Zeiber went on to explain that their compelling vision is also represented by the opening of their second campus in Duarte which brings exceptional care to patients located in the immediate area and allows families to stay together longer.  This is so important when you’re going through such an ordeal, your family offers irreplaceable emotional support.

“…world-class cancer care accessible to the people who need it.”

I was so impressed with what makes City of Hope Orange County different from other programs is that philanthropy is at the heart of the organization and it fuels discoveries that lead to improved patient outcomes 24×7.

City of Hope began in 1913 with volunteers gathering to help their community ravaged by tuberculosis. To this day, that spirit of philanthropy towards the community remains. Today there are 4 clinics in OC treating patients daily. They are fulfilling the original promise to bring world class, highly specialized cancer care as well as scientific research, close to home. Currently, City of Hope is building a second campus in Irvine starting with the Lennar Foundation Cancer Center slated to open in mid 2022 followed by the only cancer specialty hospital in OC in 2025! City of Hope is committed to change health care in Orange County and they are doing it rapidly! Support makes a significant difference, if you’d like to help in these efforts City of Hope accepts contributions to bring compassionate care and lifesaving research to save lives in the OC community.

There are many ways for individuals, businesses, and employers to make a difference. For instance, City of Hope’s 25th Walk for Hope will take place on November 7th. Many businesses are signing on as sponsors, and employers are putting teams together. Participating or signing up as a sponsor, is an easy and fun way for employers to make a difference.
