Disneyland Magic Key Family, family of five in front of Disney's California Adventure

Disneyland Magic Key Family

We have been Annual Pass holders since the year 2000 ( queue song… “in the yeaaar two thousaaaaand”) way back when it cost less than $100! It has been a benefit that we have enjoyed through thick and even thin. My kids have grown with Disneyland and California Adventure as their playground and we wouldn’t want it any other way. When Disneyland closed and our passes were all cancelled, our hearts grieved the ease of popping into Disneyland for the afternoon. When Magic Keys were announced, we were among the first to jump back into the magic and acquired Magic Keys for the family. Although the simple days of popping in to Disneyland for an afternoon romp is still not back, our Magic Keys have brought us back the magic and fun we so desperately needed (and continue to need) through these difficult 2+ pandemic years. Yes, you have to make reservations and sometimes those reservations are scarce but boy are those Disney days worth it!

If you are thinking about Magic Keys, I don’t think there’s a better time! The second week of January starts off the low season at the Disneyland Resort so crowds are generally much lower than holiday season, that’s a plus! But also, starting in February, we have a very exciting celebration to look forward to! If you are a Magic Key holder put on your fanny packs and prepare to walk into Disneyland like you own the place! Magic Key month starts this February 1, 2022 and here is what you can expect…

  • Unique Magic Key themed offerings throughout the resort including a special glittery Ima’gin’ drink at Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen, a special crazy Magic Shake at Black Tap, and even a Magic Key Slush at Galactic Grill!
  • Complimentary limited edition Magic Key Celebration goodies in the parks and Downtown Disney! Like Magic Key branded sunglasses, a mountain range and transportation poster at the entrance of Cars Land, and an Avengers Campus blueprint lithograph available at the World of Disney and the WonderGround gallery. Even a specialty pin at Wetzels Pretzels (with purchase). You must present a valid Magic Key Pass and these items are only available for a limited time, while supplies last.

  • Disney PhotoPass opportunities with special Magic Shots! Peter Pan at Disneyland and Steamboat Willie at DCA!
  • Lots of themed merchandise released throughout the month like a Magic Key drink tumbler!
  • A special Club 33-esque lounge being created just for Magic Key holders at the Magic Key Terrace at DCA!
  • You can even celebrate from home with the Magic Key portal via the Disneyland app and @DisneylandMagicKey with exclusive behind the scenes content plus extras like special wallpaper and celebratory Instagram Filter throughout the entire month!

Are you a Magic Key holder?? What are you most excited about!? I would love to try out that lounge and snag some sunglasses! Book your park reservations now and celebrate all the magic your Magic Key unlocks!
