Pismo Beach has long been our favorite beach to visit. At about 3 hours from Los Angeles it is far enough to get away from the city and wash your stress away with sand and salty surf. I’ve put together our top things to do (and eat!) in Pismo Beach!

Pismo Beach is great for a day visit but even better with an overnight stay! There are many great places to camp and hotels to stay in. Recently we stayed at the Inn at the Pier and I have to say, the location of the hotel is like no other! The rooms are beautifully appointed, modern and very clean. The location of the hotel makes it so most rooms have an incredible ocean front view. It has great dining options for breakfast in the lobby or on the rooftop for drinks and dinner! The hotel is also pet friendly which meant our Duffy Bear could come along on her first vacation! The staff is very kind, friendly and welcoming. Its a place that makes you feel right at home and long to visit again and again. Check out this fun video!

The Food! We had a wonderful breakfast at the Inn and highly recommend having breakfast there. The avocado toast was perfect! We didn’t get a chance to try the Blonde restaurant but did have a snack and a drink at the roof top bar and its a place that you must stop in! It is only open to hotel guests and the seating overlooking the ocean is perfection. You could stay there all day! If you wander off, the hotel is perfectly located so there are a variety of options within a very short walking distance. Try Splash Cafe for the best clam chowder! Served in warm, giant sourdough bread bowls, it is just as good as it gets! For dinner we tried Wooly’s this time around and we were not disappointed! They have an expanse patio area to dine in with ocean front views. It is very beachy and casual, you simply order at the bar and find yourself a seat. The food was fantastic, with great drinks to enjoy the view. The patio is also dog friendly if you are traveling with your pup they can come along too!

The Sunsets! The sunsets here are like no other. Bathing the coastal town in golden tones you want to soak in! Take a walk on the beach or enjoy dining with ocean front views. Just don’t miss it!

The Beach! The beach here is very different from any you will find in LA. it is rich with wildlife and if you keep an eye out you might be lucky enough to find a sand dollar waiting for you to discover! It’s my kids favorite thing to do here, besides the playground with slides that lead right to the sand!

The Sand Dunes and The Butterfly Grove! These two are my favorite place to explore and take a nice walk in. About a mile from the hotel, you can find the Pismo Butterfly Grove. It is seasonal, the butterflies hibernate here in the winter covering these enormous eucalyptus trees in the endangered Monarch Butterflies. In the summer the trees are  still as large and majestic to walk through. If you take the path through the trees and around past the campgrounds and into the sand dunes. Brig a boogie board and you can slide in the sand and the surf on the same day!

Lots of fun to be had visiting Pismo! if you have any questions about planning your visit drop it down below!

Our stay at the Inn at the Pier was hosted, however, opinions are always my own. To book your own stay, click here to visit their website and book your stay!
